HCl-Balans

HCl-Balans is a solution for disturbed balance in the stomach, due to lack of stomach acid (hypochloridia). It was created by a professionally selected combination of betaine hydrochloride, the enzyme pepsin and bromelain with high proteolytic activity, thus achieving an optimal process of digestion of food in the stomach.
Stomach acid is a digestive fluid that is formed in the stomach, and it contains hydrochloric acid (HCl) which is important for the health of the stomach, digestive tract and the whole organism and has a key role in the digestion of proteins.

The role of HCl:

• Activation of pepsinogen into pepsin for protein breakdown
• Activation of intrinsic vitamin B12 factor for vitamin B12 absorption
• Iron absorption Fe³⁺ → Fe²⁺  → Fe³⁺
• Antimicrobial action

The stomach is the only organ where there should be a strong acidic environment and preferably the acidity should be between pH 2 and 3. Stomach acid helps: in the breakdown of proteins, in killing microbes and pathogenic bacteria, and protects against fungi (eg candida). It helps: in the digestion of proteins by activating pepsinogen into pepsin, in the activation of the intrinsic absorption factor of vitamin B12; in the absorption of calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, ascorbic acid, beta carotene.
Under normal conditions, when this acid is formed in the stomach, a thin layer of acid-resistant mucus is formed that coats the inside of the stomach. This layer protects the stomach from aggressive and strong gastric juices and enzymes, so a perfect balance between acid and defense control mechanisms is always desirable.
If the balance in the stomach is disturbed due to various factors and not enough stomach acid is produced, or the acid damages the gastric mucosa, various gastrointestinal problems occur: heartburn, bloating, gastritis. In addition, skin problems, such as acne and rosacea, can occur.

In addition to excess, a lack of stomach acid (hypochloridia) occurs much more often. Hypochloridia means the appearance of low levels of acid in the stomach. Also, there may be a complete absence or presence of a very small amount of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and this phenomenon is called achlorhydria. This phenomenon is associated with health problems such as chronic gastritis, gastric cancer, pernicious anemia and alcoholism.
Consequences of gastric acid deficiency are: bloating, belching, heartburn, acid reflux (GERD), candida and bacterial growth in the intestines, poor digestion of protein, lack of appetite, satiety after eating very little food, pain and burning in stomach, constipation, diarrhea, permeable bowel syndrome (SIBO).
Reasons leading to stomach acid deficiency are: poor diet rich in processed foods especially sugar, intolerance to certain foods, various eating disorders including malnutrition/obesity, long-term practice of restrictive diets, lack of physical activity, excessive physical activity combined with very intense exercise, use of antibiotics and other drugs (antacids, NSAIDs, aspirin), excessive consumption of alcohol, cigarettes and psychoactive substances, chronic stress.
Hypochloridia is also affected by aging, pregnancy and hormonal changes. More than 50% of men and women over the age of 60 have problems with atrophic gastritis, which means extremely little or no acid is secreted in their stomach, and in the over-80s this condition is quite common.
During pregnancy, as well as with certain hormonal changes and disorders, there can be a change in the production of stomach acid, as well as a lack of it.
Due to the lack of hydrochloric or stomach acid, the following can occur: undigested food in the stool, candida, chronic fatigue, problems with the adrenal glands, anemia, asthma, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), numerous skin problems, lupus, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis.

For disturbed balance, due to the lack of stomach acid (hypochloridia), the solution is HCl-Balans. It is formed by an ideally balanced ratio of betaine hydrochloride, enzymes pepsin and bromelain of high proteolytic activity, which achieves the optimal process of digestion of food in the stomach.

Betain Hydrochloride (650mg per capsule) in HCl-Balans is used as an aid for the formation of hydrochloric acid in the stomach and digestion in people with symptoms of hypochlorite.

Pepsin (40mg per capsule – activity 3000 FCC. U / mg corresponding to 120,000 FCC. U in 40mg) is a proteolytic enzyme that is produced in the stomach, by activating pepsinogen with gastric acid, and serves to break down protein. Pepsin is also used in combination with dilute hydrochloric acid or betaine hydrochloride as an aid in the treatment of gastric hypochlorohydria. Supplemented enzymes (pepsin, alpha-galactosidase, alpha-amylase, lactase, pancreatin, papain, bromelain, etc.) are generally used to aid digestion in cases of indigestion or reduced natural secretion of digestive enzymes. Some enzymes, such as mainly proteolytic enzymes, may exhibit anti-inflammatory and anticancer activity.

Bromelain (50mg per capsule – activity 2500GDU / g which corresponds to 125 GDU in 50mg) is also a proteolytic enzyme and in addition to digestive activity it has anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, anticancer activity, antidiarrheal activity and wound healing activity. Bromelain has a role in repairing the damaged mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines. It is used in post-traumatic and postoperative conditions for wound healing, as a replacement for enzymes after pancreatic disease, weight reduction, etc. According to certain research, bromelain can: inhibit platelet aggregation, be useful in certain thrombosis and angina, have a positive effect on certain diseases of the respiratory tract, dysmenorrhea and certain forms of diarrhea.
